The cut–through at Brush Hollow north of Ballston Beach provides a beautiful glimpse of both beach and ocean from behind the dunes. And for this lonely September stroller, it also provides a convenient point of access. Early autumn brings a touch of color to the dying dune grass and the morning sun, already lower in the sky, casts long blue shadows across the sand.
